AR DOORWAYS

To be bold means to have the confidence to dive headfirst into new experiences. So let’s give kids the opportunity to literally enter new worlds and discover things they’ve never known before. Through AR, kids can physically walk through their favorite IP worlds, explore upcoming Netflix adventures, and learn something valuable in the process.

The Netflix Academy

Let’s turn the interesting characters in Netflix shows and the many talented artists, animators, actors, voice actors, and specialists behind the scenes into a massively engaging resource for kids to learn from. Hosted on our Netflix Futures YouTube channel, we’ll empower the next generation by creating a running library of classes that teach kids everything from cell animation to storyboarding to character design. The content will be available for all, and we’ll even feed standout students into actual internships at Netflix’s animation studio.

Real. Bold. Kids.

Netflix is full of inspiring stories of kids achieving the incredible. So let’s go even deeper, and create a content series where we seek out real kids doing amazing things and tell their stories. Once featured, they’ll live right next to their favorite shows and idols.

When I Grow Up

Let’s create new, aspirational show categories based on the professions kids dream of, better preparing them to Grow Up Bold.

Outside the Box Boldness

Let’s create educational subscription boxes that help kids learn from their favorite characters in Netflix shows. Each box will contain interesting artifacts and activities related to certain Netflix shows, as well as special AR layers where their favorite characters can actually join them at home. We’ll seed these kits and new physical watching augmentation with popular influencers and their families.

Netflix Weekly

Let’s create a special weekly email for parents that’s a jumping-off point for trending topics, relevant content, important cultural moments, and all the Netflix opportunities to dive in deeper.

WeeMote Control

As an extension of Netflix’s UX, let’s create an easily programmable (and reprogrammable) WeeMote––a remote that features seven hotkeys for the top seven Netflix shows parents want their kids to be watching (and nothing else).

Not Your Typical Family

Netflix demonstrates that there’s no one way to be a kid and there’s no one way to be a family. That we proudly recognize that every kid and every family is unique, including ours. That we are for all families and that in our family everyone is welcome.

Family to Family

Let’s turn underrepresented celebrity families into recommendation engines for great Netflix family content. We’ll share out what their home life is like and what they’re watching, and invite others to react live with them.

Anything but Typical

Netflix shows are super-inclusive and diverse, and so are the teams that create them. Let’s create a special content series that gives people a closer look into the not-so-typical families of the writers, actors/voice actors, animators, directors, and designers behind the scenes. We’ll show how these amazing contributors got to where they are today, and show how you can too.
